The "All Clear" Arrives

It finally arrived: Today we received final clearance to leave for Istanbul! We are heading out Easter Sunday, April 16. This weekend is full of goodbyes to friends and family. The kids call this "Rounds 3 & 4". Each one of these is emotional and hard on all parties. This 3-4 year venture has some "separation issues" to go along with the excitement.

Tonight we had a great dinner with our Dentist and his wife. They have invested in our time abroad, and Dr. Steve did some incredible work to make sure we are "dentally prepared" for our journey. These are great friends.
We then drove to San Diego and arrived at our hotel late, everyone crashed as soon as they got in the door.
Tomorrow we have 3 meetings spread out across the county. We will update our "supply list" soon. Things continue to fall into place. We are wiped out physically and emotionally, and yet, we are still too excited to sleep. 15 days to go!
